Simpson students have seamless access to technology on a daily basis. Simpson is equipped with 7 computer labs, 4 laptop carts, 2 PLTW laptop carts, 3 Ipad carts, and a MakerSpace. Simpson is currently has a 1 to 3 device to student ratio. Teachers are able to frequently integrate technology into their lessons.
BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE
Students at Simpson Middle School enjoy seamless use of technological devices for learning through our Bring Your Own Device policy.
Part of the philosophy of the BYOD policy is creating the opportunity for teachers and students to have a constant dialogue about the times that it is and is not appropriate to use a phone. Students and their parents must read and sign a phone use contract at the beginning of the school year, and inappropriate use of phones may result in a student losing his or her BYOD privileges.
Simpson teachers and students also have access to a range of technology resources for use in their classrooms from laptop carts to sets of iPads and iPad minis to robotics and electronics kits. These resources allow teachers to create meaningful learning experiences with technology, and they allow students to conduct research, master content through the creation of works of art, and share their work both inside and outside the walls of the school.
