Each year, the Simpson yearbook is produced by a diverse group of students. They learn the basics of photography, visual design, layout, caption-writing, and project management. The yearbook staff works extensively with technology in taking photos of school events and classes, designing and laying out pages using layout software, and marketing the book for sales through websites and social media. They learn and apply artistic principals of space, form, balance, and color through their layout. They also apply their knowledge of measurement and planes through a gridded layout system.
